As I write this, I am so pleased that I have been able to re open and return to a daily routine. I know for many of you “normal times” are still some way off. I do hope that changes for you soon. Busy, busy bee is how I have been these last few weeks. All that time off and then a frantic couple of weeks preparing the store for you all. It has been lovely to see so many regulars and new customers alike since 15th June just for a catch up, a few laughs and a bit of gossip too.
Initially I had restricted hours in place and I have to confess partly for me as I wasn’t sure I could manage my usual hours and certainly the first week I really felt it but now feel ready to go back to normal opening hours Tuesday to Saturday 10 am until 6 pm. Personal 1:1 appointments ( up to 3 people) can be arranged for Sunday and Monday subject to booking ahead.
So, what have I learnt during the last few months? Spending quality time with friends and family is key. The ability to walk almost everywhere and continue to shop locally most of the time too. Retail big and small has a place in our lives but we all need to balance our spending in my opinion in the future and continue to support smaller businesses. Despite the shop local philosophy my leisurely walks have taken a hit. I keep blaming the weather but to be honest that is just an excuse not to go. Happily, lockdown weight gain has been minimal so that is a bonus.
My favourite time of the year is fast approaching and for those that know me well that wonderful “C word” will soon start to be mentioned. Fingers crossed the first “OMG” delivery will be arriving this month so I can then visualise my displays for early Autumn. For the first time I am aiming to sell both online and in the Boutique this season. (See I did not mention it!!!) Hopefully I may be in a position to have a party or two in the Autumn to showcase the goodies plus the A/W collection from various suppliers. Watch this space….
So, I hope you have enjoyed my catch up and look forward to seeing many more of you in the coming weeks. Oh, almost forgot, the hair has been sorted, note to the Government- if lockdown or similar happens in the future make hairdressers, barbers and beauticians exempt please!!
Warmest wishes to you all
