As I started to write this piece the rain was pouring whilst starting to watch the tennis at Wimbledon- should we expect anything less? To be honest it would not be the same if the sun shone throughout the whole fortnight anyway. What a fabulous finals we saw this weekend in the Woman's and Men's matches.
What can I say other than I cannot believe it is almost 3 months since the green light was given to reopen the Boutique and normality seems to be returning? I know mask wearing and social distancing is a pain sometimes, but I feel more confident and comfortable, and I know from speaking to many of you the feeling is mutual so I guess if that remains for some months yet it is not the end of the world.
I have been busy sourcing new product lines for the Boutique and for Online. I must introduce you to Lisa Angel a UK based business with a wonderful selection of homeware, gifts and jewellery. As with most of my suppliers the vintage laid back vibe is evident in her designs. Some initial pieces are already online and there is more in store too.
Another collaboration with @atnumbertenhome has introduced retro and vintage products to F&R Boutique. A mixture of upcycled and original 20th century furniture as well as object d’art has created a new buzz. Our current theme is all out outdoor/summer living. I want to show you can successfully mix old and new alike to create a unique, one off look for your home. If you are driving pass the Boutique, check out the window and let me know what you think.
My local artisan family continue to design and make wonderful items too. @Craftybyewe colourful pom pom on twigs look wonderful in a large vase and need no watering either!! Somehow by magic all the different crafts blend so well together.
The Dress Agency side of the business continues, and lovely garments and accessories are arriving daily now. This year I took the plunge to introduce a new clothing range from an Award-Winning UK company Goose Island. All the garments are designed and made in Italy. New collections arrive every few weeks, but you must be quick as they soon fly out again. Like the giftware mixing preloved and new means an individual look is achieved making you stand out in that “socially distanced crowd”.
Clients often comment about their reluctance to purchase online without seeing the garment. If you are close by you can always send me a message direct and I can reserve for you to see/try before you buy. Honestly, there is no obligation to purchase, I just do not want you to miss out!
Well as I look up, I can see the sun trying to poke through the clouds so that is my cue to rush outside and top up my Vitamin D quota before it disappears again!
Until the next time…………. Fiona x
